The Wild Robot is of the best animated films of the 21st century

Review by iMaji

The Wild Robot is truly one of the most beautiful and endearing movies I have ever seen. The story follows a lost robot learning to raise a gooseling. The obvious parallel is to mothership ofc, but the contrast between the being of tech raising a force of nature is what makes the dynamic so interesting. Seeing the events and contrasting dynamic bloom, and especially leading into what was a hell of an ending sequence, made this movie especially so good. The artstyle here is also so fantastic, with the sharp designs of the characters retaining the expressiveness of DreamWorks while also taking leaps in animation. This is especially seen in the surfaces looking super hand-painted while on a CGI skeleton, a fun nod to the nature vs technology theme of the film, and how both forces can work in tandem so long as they keep each other in check. Overall, an easy 9/10 for me
